Four Macau residents from Singapore, Myanmar, USA and Australia have been classified as imported cases of asymptomatic infection and one Macau resident from Dubai has been classified as a relapsed case, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre has said.
Four of the confirmed cases were administered at least two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine and tested positive upon arrival in Macau on March 12, and were referred to the Public Health Clinic in Coloane, and all of the patients denied any history of infection, the heath authorities said.
A 33-year-old female Macau resident from Singapore was administered two doses of an mRNA vaccine in July and August 2021. On March 11, she tested negative in Singapore.
A 37-year-old male Macau resident, who came from Myanmar via Singapore, was administered three doses of the Sinopharm vaccine in March, April and November 2021.
A 25-year-old female Macau resident from the USA via Singapore was administered three doses of an mRNA vaccine in March, April and December 2021. On March 7, 8 and 9 this year, the three nucleic acid tests tested in the USA returned negative results.
A 23-year-old female Macau resident traveling from Australia via Singapore was administered two doses of mRNA vaccine in July and August 2021.
The relapsed case, a 39-year-old Macau resident from Dubai, was administered two doses of the Sinopharm vaccine in October and November 2021. On March 7, 8 and 10, this year, the tests conducted in Dubai were all negative, with all three nucleic acid tests returning negative results.
“This woman had been diagnosed as a confirmed case on January 12, 2022, so she was classified as a relapsed case, and was referred to the Coloane Public Health Clinical Centre,” the health authorities added.
To date, 82 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 50 asymptomatic infections have been registered in Macau.
