Gongbei Port sees record Spring Festival travel rush

The 40-day Spring Festival travel period at Gongbei Port concluded with over 14 million border crossings, up 9% from last year, setting three new daily traffic records in nearly six years. Hong Kong and Macau residents accounted for 5.46 million trips, while mainland tourists on travel permits reached 3.42 million, up more than 40%. Peak travel occurred Feb. 4–10, with 463,000 crossings on Feb. 7. Meanwhile, at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Zhuhai port, 3.65 million passengers and 760,000 vehicles crossed, with Feb. 22 seeing a record 26,500 vehicles in a single day.
