Melco to launch Studio City diagnostic hospital this October

Melco Resorts & Entertainment is set to launch a private hospital specializing in imaging and diagnostic services in October at its Studio City property.
Melco first revealed plans for an “iRad Polyclinic” at Studio City during a December 2022 media briefing organized by the local government, as part of its investment commitments under the 10-year gaming concession effective January 1, 2023.
Melco International Development Ltd, the parent company, said in a filing that it has entered into a 10-year operating agreement with iRad Imaging and Diagnostic Medical Center, an associate connected to Melco chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho.
The contract, which begins on October 1, 2025, includes two optional five-year extensions.
Zedra Asia Limited, acting as the trustee of a discretionary family trust with beneficiaries that include Ho and his family, holds an indirect 40.63% stake in iRad, according to the filing.
The hospital will occupy 12,618 square feet within Studio City and is described as a “fully fitted, world-class private hospital focused on imaging and diagnostic medical services.”
Under the agreement, Melco’s subsidiary, Studio City Retail Services Limited, will supply and install medical equipment.
iRad will pay a base monthly fee of MOP694,981 for rent and equipment use, alongside a 1.5% turnover fee if revenues exceed the base, and a management fee starting in year four.
At the end of the term, iRad may acquire the equipment at a nominal price.
Melco said the hospital will support the local healthcare sector and provide discounted imaging and diagnostic packages for employees and guests of Studio City, Altira Hotel, and City of Dreams.
In August, the Times reported that iRad Medical was actively recruiting in Macau for roles in aesthetic medicine, general medicine, radiography, pharmacology, and operations.
The listings were published on local job platforms.
