SMG says low to medium probability of hoisting signal 3 for ‘Podul’

The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has said in its latest update that there is a low to medium probability of raising the typhoon signal from 1 to 3 during this morning for the passing of typhoon “Podul.” Signal one was hoisted since noon yesterday, and the SMG does not expect any significant impact from this typhoon besides the unstable weather. However, under the influence of outer rain bands, Macau will experience frequent heavy showers and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong gusts, from today to the early hours of tomorrow (Aug. 15). According to the forecasted track, Podul will make landfall between the southern coast of Fujian and the eastern coast of Guangdong around midday today.
