‘Women from the Sea’ brings ocean stories to Macau, Hong Kong
“Women from the Sea,” a UNESCO-endorsed documentary directed and written by Raquel Clemente Martins, will be showcased in Macau and Hong Kong on January 31, with the local screening tentatively scheduled for March. Macau and Hong Kong were chosen for their profound maritime heritage and longstanding traditions of fishing communities. According to Macao News, the documentary, created by Martins, was the result of her combined emotional connection to the ocean and Elp Images, her not-for-profit organization dedicated to using film and media as tools for social and environmental impact.
