BRIEFS | British Monopoly players compete for Macau trip

British national Terri Ross, who was awarded first place in the UK final of the Monopoly championship, will be competing in Macau at the world championships, The Newcastle Chronicle & Journal reported. A 26-year-old mother of two, Ross was crowned the Monopoly champion of the North East. Ms Ross, who hails from Consett in County Durham, admitted she is not a regular Monopoly player and signed up to the competition as a joke. She was therefore surprised to have won the regional heat of the contest. Ms Ross will be competing against 11 other players from across the country in the national final in London on July 19. If she wins, she will be traveling to Macau to compete against champions from other countries.
