Cancer accounts for around 30% of fatalities in Macau

Alvis Lo, the director of the Health Bureau, has stated that cancer accounts for around 30% of fatalities in Macau, according to the records of cause of death. During his speech at the Kiang Wu Hospital-organized Greater Bay Area International Oncology Summit Forum, Lo emphasized that tumors are classified as chronic diseases, and their management can be greatly improved through early detection and treatment. He also highlighted Macau’s efforts in collaborating with different medical institutions to enhance healthcare services, such as the training of specialized doctors and advancements in medical technology.
