Decorations 2019 | Liu Chak Wan, Ma Iao Lai given Golden Lotus accolades
For the final time before he steps down next month as the city’s top official, Chief Executive Chui Sai On conferred the city’s highest and most prestigious awards to notable members of the Macau government and public.
At the annual Decorations, Medals and Certificates of Merit ceremony held on Friday, the prominent Golden Lotus and Silver Lotus awards were bestowed on a combined total of eight persons and one company.
The two individuals who were awarded the Decoration of Honour – Golden Lotus are Liu Chak Wan, member of the Executive Council and of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and chancellor of the Macau University of Science and Technology; and Ma Iao Lai, a politician, member of the CPPCC and of the Executive Council, and President of the Macao Chamber of Commerce.
Leonel Alberto Alves, Cheang Chi Keong, Ho Sut Heng, Eddie Wong and Chan Chak Mo were each recipients of the Decoration of Honour – Silver Lotus awards, as was Nam Kwong União Comercial e Industrial, Limitada.
The individual recipients of the Golden Lotus and Silver Lotus awards are all members of the Executive Council.
