DSF to start refunding professional tax to some 158,000 taxpayers
Some 158,000 taxpayers will begin receiving a refund of a part of the professional tax paid in 2022 late this month, the Financial Services Bureau (DSF) informed. Refunds will commence on May 24. According to the provisions in the 2024 Budget Law, taxpayers will see a refund of 60% of the professional tax paid over the 2022 year up to a maximum of MOP14,000. This rule applies only to taxpayers who were Macau residents (ID holders) on or before Dec. 31 2022. It is expected that the entire refund process will be completed by early June.
