IAM finds excessive lead in egg noodles, orders suspension of sales

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) found excessive lead in a sample of loose-packed egg noodles for frying collected from “Oficina de Massas San Tong Heng” in Travessa de Chan Loc during routine food testing. The establishment was ordered to immediately stop selling, producing, and supplying the affected product and to review its production and hygiene processes until requirements are met and re-inspection is passed. The sample contained 0.432mg/kg of lead, above the limit under Administrative Regulation No. 23/2018. IAM said normal consumption is unlikely to pose acute risk, but long-term excessive intake may harm the nervous system.
