The city of Mindelo, on São Vicente Island, will host the 23rd edition of the Cape Verde International Fair (FIC 2019), which will take place from November 13 to 17, the president of FIC recently announced in Praia.
Gil Costa, speaking at the closing session of FIC 2018, said that the objectives set for this year’s edition of Cabo Verde’s main trade fair had been “fully achieved” and that several exhibitors reported it had been worth taking part in the event.
This year’s edition of the Cabo Verde International Fair was held from 14 to 18 November in Praia and was attended by 130 exhibitors from Cabo Verde, Portugal, Spain and Brazil over 220 stands.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy, Alexandre Monteiro, also present at the closing session, restated “the structural measures to be introduced” in the areas of business financing, transport, taxation and energy, with a view to improving the business environment and competitiveness of the country.
The event was marked by the signing of an agreement to buy and sell the 80% stake held by the state in the Barlavento and Sotavento chambers of commerce and Cabo Verde tourism.
The remaining 20 percent remains in the hands of Cabo Verde TradeInvest. MDT/Macauhub
