Tamagnini Barbosa Market renewal expected to spotlight culinary traditions

The Tamagnini Barbosa Market revitalisation in Toi San is proceeding smoothly, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said, with phased works due to start in the third quarter. The scheme will prioritise a food court showcasing Macau’s traditional culinary culture, featuring 16 stalls and about 150 seats, and it aims for completion by yearend. Under the plan, 23 freshfood stalls will be retained while existing cookedfood vendors move into the new food court; the seven remaining stalls will be offered by public tender. Stall sizes range from 11.4 to 19.8 square metres. Groundfloor construction is scheduled for Q1–Q2 2027. As highlighted, during the works, freshfood vendors may either close temporarily or relocate to temporary stalls, depending on their preference.
