Woman arrested at airport with MOP6.7M worth of cannabis

A 32-year-old Malaysian woman was arrested at Macau International Airport after Judiciary Police and Customs officers seized 6.7 kilograms of cannabis worth about MOP6.7 million in her luggage. Authorities said the woman was identified during a risk assessment operation targeting flights from Southeast Asia. Police believe she was hired by an overseas drug trafficking group to smuggle the drugs into Macau before transferring them to nearby regions. She faces drug trafficking charges and has been referred to the Public Prosecutions Office.
